Background and Experience

Allison Editorial owner Allison Friederichs received her Ph.D. in communication from the University of Denver.

Dr. Friederichs is a former full-time instructor at the University of Denver, where she taught communication courses at the undergraduate level since 1999 and graduate level since 2004. She has also collaborated with Dr. Carl Larson on communication consulting projects for The Colorado Trust.

Dr. Friederichs has published several works including articles in academic journals, academic textbook chapters, non-profit agency technical reports, and book reviews. She has won several awards for her work including the following:

 •  Emma Murray Communication Research Award
 •  Western Communication Association Top Student Paper Award
 •  International Communication Association Award for Outstanding Teaching by a Graduate Student

Current Projects

Dr. Friederichs is currently serving as a communication consultant to the University of Denver’s University College. She is working with University College Senior Instructional Designer Paul Novak to compile assessment data for University College’s current curriculum and conduct research for the university’s curriculum readjustment project.

Dr. Friederichs continues to adjunct teach communication courses for the University of Denver.

Dr. Friederichs is also currently working on research for her book, which will focus on the impact poor grammar has on today’s organizations. (Look for her blog and an opportunity to participate in her research coming soon.)

Dr. Friederichs is a member of the Rocky Mountain Publishing Professionals Guild and the National Association of Professional Women.
